What happens to a pregnant dog if spayed while pregnant?

Question by …shea…: What happens to a pregnant dog if spayed while pregnant?
I have a bad feeling that my dog may be pregnant. If I get her spayed next week, what will happen to the puppies or would-be puppies? IF she is pregnant, she is only about 2 weeks pregnant. Thanks!

Getting the spay will abort the puppies. Thanks for doing the responsible thing!

they abort them if she is not too far along
You should get a doggy abortion first or if you want pups wait until, then get her spayed.
The spay will directly abort the puppies. Its best for her and the world overall.
Thank you for being responsible.
They abort them as they would in a human.
Please do the right thing and prevent your dog from contributing to the gross overpopulation in the US.
Nothing bad will happen to her. I used to work for a vet, we spayed a pregnant cat. She was fine. No unwanted kittens. Life was good. The puppies of course, would cease to exist, but then you will not have to worry about having to place puppies and trying to find responsible owners for all the little ones.
Spay her, she will be fine.
If she’s only 2 weeks pregnant, the puppies are only a pile of cells at this point. She’ll have her uterous, and ovaries removed, including the fertalized eggs, so she won’t have a litter of puppies that apparently were’nt planned.
It won’t hurt her at all, at this early stage, but many vets won’t spay past 1 month pregnant…so hurry get your appointment.
go ahead and have her spayed she isn’t to far along so its easier to do it now. But do let the vet know so he/she is prepared.
ask the vet if she is pregnant and if she is pregnant what until she gives birth to get her spayed
